Effective March 1, 2023, the Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulations adopted amendments to its regulations on the foreclosure process.


On November 23, 2022, Massachusetts updated Regulatory Bulletin 1.3-104, which applies to Massachusetts’s subprime adjustable-rate mortgage loans made to first time home loan borrowers.

New York

The Governor of New York signed into law Senate Bill 2229, which implements a new loan counseling disclosure required to be provided by mortgage bankers originating home loans guaranteed by the Veterans Affairs. The Bill was effective April 1, 2023.


The Governor of Tennessee signed into law Senate Bill 676, related to costs associated with recording a release of a lien. Senate Bill 676 was effective March 10, 2023.
